Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan, his son booked for skipping quarantine
The BMC on Monday registered a case against actors Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan for violating Covid-19 norms.
Sohail Khan's son Nirvaan Khan has also been named in the case registered by the municipal body for violating Covid-19 guidelines.
"Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation registers FIR against actor Sohail Khan & his son as well as actor Arbaaz Khan for violating COVID norms. They returned from Dubai on December 25 and were asked to remain in quarantine in a hotel but they went home," BMC officials said, news agency reported.
As per latest reports, Sohail and Arbaaz Khan have now got themselves quarantined at Hotel Taj Lands End in Mumbai.
According to the complaint filed by a BMC medical officer, the trio -- Arbaaz Khan, Sohail Khan and Nirvaan Khan --returned from Dubai on December 25 last year and directly went home without isolating themselves at a hotel. The complainant stated that the trio were asked to quarantine themselves in a hotel as per the Covid-19 guidelines but they went home directly.
They gave "false undertaking" to quarantine themselves at Hotel Taj Lands End in Mumbai but went to their Bandra home instead, the complainant stated.
As per the BMC guidelines, the trio should have gone through seven-day institutional quarantine. Hence, an FIR has been registered against them, according to a report.
According to reports, this FIR has been filed at the Khar police station and as per Mumbai Police, the investigation about the same has already begun.
As for Sohail and Arbaaz, they are yet to comment or issue a clarification on the matter.
This should be noted here that the returnees from UAE and UK and other parts of Europe are required to go under mandatory 7-day quarantine as a part of the existing COVID-19 protocol. These norms were introduced after a new stain of novel Coronavirus reportedly surfaced in the UK.
