Your plans for New Year's 2021 are going to be somehow different than what they used to be — you may be partying or maybe sitting on the couch in front of a festive New Year's movie — and your resolutions may look different, too.

Well, going by the tradition, you need to take up a new year resolution and follow it too. Not sure what you want your resolutions to be? Here are some easy, doable New Year’s resolutions ideas to get your list started.


1. Learn something new


Yea! Get up, go out, learn something new, develop a new habit. Make a list of what you always wanted to learn, but couldn't get the time and resources to do so. This could be a start of something new, maybe some new things could be on your path. Have a book idea you have sat on for years? Always dreamed of backpacking in Europe? Find a way to set those goals in motion in small ways every day.


2. Start saving


Saving is important. Nothing better than travelling with your own hard earned money. Set goals to fit your budget. Any amount saved adds up over time!


3. Keep a gratitude journal


Especially during this stressful year, it's important to reflect on all of the blessings you have. And with good reason: Gratitude is something that we should be able to express on any occasion—no matter how big or small. There are numerous benefits to gratitude. Take five minutes every day to record what you are grateful for. You can shoot a video, or you can keep a journal for the record.


4. Volunteer


Always, Always Help! Set aside a little time once a week or once a month to give back. Deliver through Meals on Wheels, go to an animal shelter, or volunteer with schools.


5. Adopt a pet


The best thing in the World, Right? Cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, and fish are relatively easy and rewarding pets for first-timers, and pets have multiple benefits for your well-being. Just make sure to do your research before inviting a furry friend into your life!
